Watchlist Recap: How Our Nov. 3 Stocks to Watch Played Out
By Tech & Money Press · Recap of our Stocks to Watch for Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Every night we publish key levels for the next trading day. Here is how Tuesday’s list played out, including the setups that didn’t work. All prices are regular-session data from Webull unless noted.
The Nasdaq rebounded 0.8% on Tuesday and QQQ snapped a four-day losing streak, closing at $685.28. SPY gained 0.3% to $754.35 and the IWM added 0.2%. But it was a rough day for after-hours earnings gaps: three of our four gap-ups gave back most of their move in the first minutes of trading.

Commercial Vehicle Group (CVGI) – The one that worked
We flagged CVGI’s thin after-hours volume and said to watch pre-market before trusting the gap. Pre-market was quiet, with the stock trading between $3.45 and $3.70. It opened at $3.46, then broke our $3.70 first resistance in the first 15 minutes on about 127,000 shares, the heaviest volume of the morning.
The run continued to $3.9976 around 10:45 a.m. ET, less than a cent below our $4.00 second resistance. The stock held near $3.90 until early afternoon, then faded. The low of the day was $3.32, just above our $3.30 first support, and it closed at $3.34, up 5.4% on about 1.1 million shares, three times Monday’s volume.

Upwork (UPWK) – Support held, resistance never came into play
Upwork’s after-hours gain disappeared overnight. It touched $10.64 at 4 a.m. ET but drifted to $9.61 before the open, below our $10.12 first support. It opened at $9.55 and bottomed at $9.52, just 4 cents under our $9.56 second support, then bounced. By 10:30 a.m. it was back above $10.12 and reached $10.44 before closing at $9.93, up 2.2% on about 9 million shares. Our $11.30 resistance was never tested. We mark it neutral.
Backblaze (BLZE) – Up 13%, but the gap failed
Backblaze held near $10 for most of pre-market but never got close to our $10.68 first resistance; its high was $10.37 just after 4 a.m. ET. It slipped below our $9.94 support several times in pre-market, opened at $9.67 and dropped to $7.65 in the first 15 minutes, cutting through our $9.44 second support. It spent most of the day between $7.70 and $8.20 and closed at $8.38. The stock still finished up 13% on about 12 million shares, but anyone buying the after-hours gap at $10 was well underwater.
Harmonic (HLIT) – The whole gap disappeared
Harmonic hit $12.25 in pre-market around 9:15 a.m. ET, a nickel above our $12.20 first resistance, and was rejected. It opened at $11.89 and lost our $11.30 support in the first 15 minutes, then broke our $10.88 second support by about 10 a.m. It slid for the rest of the session and closed at $10.19, unchanged from Monday, on about 3.9 million shares. A beat-and-raise quarter could not hold a 17% after-hours gain.
VCI Global (VCIG) – The riskiest name lived up to it
We called VCI Global the riskiest name on the list, and it never gave buyers a chance. It started pre-market at $5.59, already below our $6.05 first support, and fell under our $5.00 second support before 8:30 a.m. ET, hitting $4.05. It opened at $4.36, bounced to $5.78 in the first half hour, slid back to $4.40 and closed at $5.69, down 30% from Monday.
Takeaways
One hit, one neutral and three misses. Every stock that lost its first support before the open failed, while CVGI, which held its pre-market range and broke resistance on volume after the bell, worked. The lesson for earnings gaps: check where the stock is trading against the levels before 9:30 a.m. If the gap is already fading in pre-market, the setup is usually done.
