Celestica Jumps 17% After Hours as Q3 Beat and Higher Guidance Answer the AI Doubters
By Tech & Money Press · October 26, 2026
Celestica (CLS) shares jumped 16.8% to about $288 in after-hours trading on Monday after the electronics maker beat third-quarter estimates and raised its full-year outlook. The report came after a rough month: the stock had fallen 36% from its Oct. 6 close of $388.24 to Monday’s close of $246.65, just above its 52-week low.
The numbers
| Q3 2026 result | Estimate | |
|---|---|---|
| Adjusted EPS | $3.30 | $2.99 |
| Revenue | $5.83 billion (+83% year over year) | $5.48 billion |
Celestica also raised its full-year 2026 guidance. It now expects revenue of $21 billion, up from $20.5 billion, and adjusted EPS of $11.55, up from $11.30. That works out to growth of about 69% in revenue and 91% in earnings for the year. CEO Rob Mionis said the company continues to see strong momentum.
Why it matters
Celestica builds networking switches, servers and other data center hardware for the largest cloud companies, which makes it one of the main AI infrastructure plays outside the chipmakers. The stock was caught in this month’s broad sell-off in AI names, and it lost 11.7% on Oct. 22 alone. The company also sold $3 billion of new stock at $310 per share in August, so many recent buyers are underwater. Before the report, analyst price targets ranged from $375 to $520.
Strong results and a higher outlook answer the biggest question investors had: whether demand for AI hardware is slowing. For now, the numbers say it is not.
Our Take
Monday’s regular session was weak. CLS opened at $267, peaked at $273.14 and slid all day to close at $246.65, down 5.1%, just above its 52-week low of $244.51. After the report, it jumped as high as $291.20 on about 515,000 shares in after-hours trading. That move recovers most of the Oct. 22 breakdown, but after-hours volume is thin, so the regular session has to confirm it.

Key levels we’re watching on CLS
Resistance
- $291.20 (after-hours high): The first test after the open.
- $299.69–$304.61 (Oct. 20–21 closes): The zone where the stock broke down last week.
- $310 (August offering price): Sellers who bought the offering may use a rally into this level to exit.
Support
- $273.14 (Monday’s high): Holding above this level keeps the earnings gap intact.
- $260.01 (Friday’s close): The next support if the gap starts to fill.
- $246.24 (Monday’s low): A drop back to this level would erase the entire earnings reaction.
Bottom line: Earnings gaps on large, well-followed companies tend to hold better than small-cap spikes, but CLS still needs to prove it after the open. A hold above $273 keeps the gap intact and puts the $300–$305 zone in play. A fade back below $273 would mean sellers are using the good news to exit.
What to watch next
- Tuesday’s regular session: Whether the gap holds above $273.
- Analyst updates: Price target changes after the report.
- Wednesday, Oct. 28: The Federal Reserve’s rate decision, which could move the whole AI trade.
